Covid-19 Update: 847 test positive as positivity rate stands at 13.9%

The Ministry of Health has stated that 847 people have tested positive for corona virus in the past 24 hours.

According to MoH, the 847 tested positive from a sample size of 6,080 tested in the last 24 hours bringing the positivity rate to 13.9%.

Total confirmed positive cases are now 196,745 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 2,087,582.

MoH reported that 722 patients recovered from the disease with 567 recoveries coming from Home Based and Isolation Care programs,

Total recoveris, according to MoH are at 185,762.

Sadly, MoH reported 11 fatalities, stating that one occurred in the past 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of fatalities to 3,849.

1,277 patients with Covid-19 have been admitted to various facilities as 3,705 other patients sort treatment at Home-Based and Isolation Care Program.

In terms of County distribution, Nairobi had 397 cases, Busia 66, Kiambu 58, Nakuru 46, Mombasa 40, Nyeri 35, Machakos 29, Kilifi 23, Turkana 17, Kitui 14, Murang’a 12, Kericho 11, Kirinyaga 10, Nyandarua, 10, Garissa 8, Kajiado 8, Siaya 8 and Homa Bay 7.

On the other hand, Kisumu had 6, Bungoma 6, Uasin Gisgu 6, Migori 5, Vihiga 4, Lamua 3, Nyamira 3, Meru 2, Narok 2, West Pokot 2, Lakipia 2, Taita Taveta 1, Tana River 1, Trans Nzoia 1, Embu 1, Kakamega 1, Kisii 1 and Kwale 1.
