The Ministry of Health (MOH) has reported that 1,205 people tested positive of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.
According to MOH, the 1,205 cases, 1, 175 are Kenyans while 30 are foreigners. “622 are males while 583 are female. The youngest is a six-month-old infant while the oldest is 100 years old,” MOH said.
Total cases in the country now stand at 211,028 as cumulative test so far conducted stand at 2,184,276.
As of today, MOH says 1,242 patients recovered from the disease with 1,069 patients coming from Home Based Care and Isolation program while 39,180 patients are from various health facilities.
Sadly, 29 patients succumbed to the disease, all of them being late deaths reported after conducting facility record audits on diverse dates in April, May, June, July and August 2021.
The 29 patients who succumbed to the disease now push the fatality to 4,117. “Our condolences to the family and friends of those who have lost their loved ones,” MOH said.
A total of 1,650 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide while 7,771 others are currently under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.
MOH says that 109 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 46 of whom are on ventilator support and 56 on supplemental oxygen. 7 patients are under observation.
Another 569 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 533 of them on general ward and 35 in High Dependency Units (HDU).
