A club Manager and a bouncer are among 7 people who have been charged with killing a 38-year-old matatu driver inside Deja Vu Club in Westlands a month ago.

The seven who beat Charles Chege to death appeared before Justice Grace Nzioka where they pleaded not guilty to the charge of murder.

Victor Ouma, Victor Okeyo, Benaya Sigiro, Robin Kyalo, Shadrack Nyakundi, Brian Amadala, Xavier Werunga, and Derrick Ambaka who were charged through a virtual link are said to have descended on Chege on allegations that he stole another reveller’s phone.

The bouncers who were captured in a video beating the father of three senseless using pipes and sticks, in between blows and kicks pleaded not guilty to the offence of murder.

“You are all charged that on March 6th 2022 at Deja Vu Club Raphta Road in Kelieshwa jointly murdered Charles Chege ” read the murder charge.

They have been remanded at Industrial Area police station pending hearing scheduled for July 25 and 26.
