A section of City Hall was set on fire during the Tuesday, June 25, 2024, protests against the controversial Finance Bill 2024.

Police water cannons were seen rushing towards the City Hall offices to try and contain the fire which was spreading into other rooms in the establishment.

The incident comes after a section of Parliament caught fire following a breach of security and forceful entry into the August House by irate protesters.

During the invasion, several glass panels were shattered, windows broken and couches in the Parliament cafeteria destroyed.

Several people were reported to have been shot during the fracas with others feared dead.
