Nandi County Senator Samson Cherargei has urged Gen Zs to always be strategic in their quest for a change in the country.
Taking to his official X account on Sunday, December 22, 2024, Cherargei told the Kenyan youth that their mantra of tribeless, leaderless, agendaless and directionless will not work.
Cherargei on Ruto-Kasmuel meeting
His remarks come moments after Kasmuel McOure who was part of the proponents of the Gen Z-led anti-government protests in June and July 2024, met with President William Ruto.
Kasmuel met President Ruto at A.I.C Kipkorgot church in Ainabkoi, Uasin Gishu County, where he attended the Sunday service on December 22, 2024.
Cherargei shared a photo of Kasmuel with President Ruto and asked the Gen Zs to learn something from it, arguing that politics is about interests.
According to Cherargei, the youth should accept to work with the Head of State for them to be able to push for what they have been championing for.
“To Genz what do you learn from this picture? Your mantra of tribeless, leaderless, agendaless and directionless will not work. Be strategic ! politics is about interests there is no enmity !!. Work with government of HE Ruto to push for what you championed for ! Blessed day,” Cherargei stated.

Kasmuel’s association with Raila
A video of Kasmuel stating that Raila Odinga had sent him to the A.I.C Kipkorgot church event to represent him has been doing rounds on social media.
The youthful political activist has been facing criticism from a section of Kenyans following his association with Raila and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
However, he has always defended his association with Raila and ODM.
Kasmuel in November 2024, vowed to continue his association with ODM, after meeting with Homa Bay County Governor Gladys Wanga, who asked him to help bring on board many youth.
“If you’re willing to join a substantive political movement for a fair, democratic Kenya where everyone can live with dignity, consider ODM – the largest pro-people party in East and Central Africa!
“We’re revitalizing the youth and students’ leagues and are calling on passionate young Kenyans to help shape our future. Stand with us!” Kasmuel said in a statement shared on his X handle.
He vowed to help register several youths to become members of ODM, arguing that the opposition outfit is the party of the present and the future.
“We will go out in an outreach like never before. We will register not only the educated but also the uneducated people and those in the technical institutions and ensure that this is the party that they will join.
“Every Kenyan is a member of ODM just by virtue, and that is why we will go on a massive, rigorous registration of the young people to come and bring them to the party of the present and the future,” he added.
