Caleb Amisi urges Raila to cut ties with Ruto’s govt

Saboti Member of Parliament (MP) Caleb Amisi has made a passionate and provocative appeal to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga, urging him to withdraw from any form of political cooperation with President William Ruto’s administration.
In a candid and emotionally charged statement shared via his official X account on Friday, July 11, 2025, Amisi accused the government of betraying the ideals of the Orange party and compromising the legacy Raila has built over decades.
Amisi went ahead to express deep frustration over what he views as abandonment by senior party leaders after ODM strikes a deal with Ruto’s administration.
He likened his political struggles to “shooting in the wilderness,” suggesting that the broad-based talks have left grassroots voices like his silenced and exposed.
“Dear Baba @RailaOdinga, my party leader of @TheODMparty, you know my respect to you is unmatched, and it is premised on the reason that you have a history for fighting for a lot that Kenya enjoys today. You are not perfect; no one is. Since it is broad-based, I have been lonely in the trenches, where you guys left me. I have been shooting in the wilderness aimlessly and all allover to scare the approaching enemies and sometimes shooting you in the foot,” Amisi stated.
Amisi on Ruto’s allies
He warned that Kenya is in a dangerous place under the Ruto administration, accusing the president of surrounding himself with corrupt and arrogant allies who are blind to the suffering of ordinary Kenyans.
“Baba Huku nje ni kubaya. Your guy Ruto has caused more harm beyond recognition, and he does not know the magnitude, neither do his proud, arrogant, close allies wallowing in the miasma of stolen money, know,” Amisi stated.

Threats
He also revealed that he has been living under constant threats but remains resolute in his fight for justice and reform, calling himself the “courageous biblical Caleb.”
In a bold call to action, he urged Raila to remove the remaining ODM loyalists from government and join what he termed a generational mission to remove “Kasongo,” his apparent nickname for President Ruto.
“You are either praising them, or you are put on a list to be eliminated. I myself have been living under constant threats by the high and mighty, but I am Kijana Power, the courageous biblical Caleb who ensured the voyage of the people of Israel to Canaan when everybody else thought it was mission impossible,” the statement read.
“The reason I am still breathing is that I am strong in spirit. Baba, dialogue only works with statesmen. He is not one, and you know it. The best way to hold intergenerational dialogue is to remove the remaining, adamant, excited ODM brigade from the government and join us to remove Kasongo. You owe nobody anything, and Kenyans have your history, but this shall be the best legacy in your history book. You have shaken many hands, but this one is the last straw that will break the nation called Kenya.”
