Ambulance driver, patient killed in ambush in Garissa

The ambulance belonging to Garissa County is said to have hit a landmine and then sprayed with bullets, killing three occupants.

Three people were killed and two others injured following an attack on an ambulance belonging to the Garissa County.

Among those killed in the Sunday attack were the driver, a female patient and her son.

The ambulance was travelling from Sangailu to Garissa when it was attacked at Hulgho.

The vehicle is said to have hit a landmine and then sprayed with bullets by unidentified attackers.

“My heartfelt condolences to the family and am deeply saddened by the horrendous IED attack that killed 3 people travelling in an ambulance from Sangailu to Hulugho. Those killed include the driver and a patient. I certainly condemn this heartless attack,” said Garissa Governor Ali Korane on Facebook.
