6 counties scheduled for power outages on Wednesday

At least six counties will experience power outages on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, the Kenya Power and Lighting Company has announced.

In a statement on Tuesday, the utility firm said the outages will be as a result of planned maintenance of power lines.

“Good evening. The following areas will be affected by scheduled power interruptions to carry out network maintenance tomorrow,” Kenya Power stated.

Among the counties that will be affected include Migori, Nyeri, Meru, Kiambu, Mombasa and Kakamega.

In Migori, the areas that will be affected include parts of Awendo, Rongo Town, Kanyawanga, Kitere Centre, Rongo University, Kanga High School, Kanga Centre, Kokuro High School, Kokuro Center, Nyatambe, Ondome, Siruti, Rakwaro and adjacent customers.

In Nyeri, the areas which will experience power outages include Kiawara, Belle View, Chinese Crusher Mataopeni, Njoguini, Kamiruri, Wangata, Karin-guini, Muhonia, Birisha, Karimenu, St Lassele, Ruirie, Mahinga Meru, Egas Nainitia, Marina, Laikipia Vocational Training College and adjacent customers.

In Meru, Gankere, Maskan, Nchiru Market, Meru University, Kunene Dispesary, Uringu Girls, Kunene Market, Kimachia, Kagaene Market, Kithiiri Market, Mbeu Hospital, Kibuline Market, Machagene Market and adjacent customers will be affected.

Areas that will be affected in Kiambu include part of Limuru Town, Karanjee, Kwambira, Kamirithu, KBC Kwambira, Auto Springs, Tharuini, Step Joy Boys, Rwacumaria, Mutarakwa, Kamonoru, Ndiuni, Nyataragi, Thigio, Boroti, Gichungo, Kirin and adjacent customers.

Others include Murera Sisal, Matangini, Hamundia, Theta, PCEA Matangi, Magomano, Ndarasha, Ndururumo, Ruiriro, Pherie, Corner Brook, St Dominic, Space & Style, Juja South Estate, Selecta/KPP Production, Mastores, Abba Salama, Juja Farm S/Centre, Juja Farm Police Station, Gikumari S/Centre, Air Harries/Kwa Mzungu, Kwa Wamuini, Kwa Wamumbi, Juja Farm Zone P, Mwireri S/Centre, Kwa Mirage S/Centre, Kwa Ruhi, Athi S/Centre, PCEA Tumaini, St Michael Secondary School, Athi Dispensary, Mukuyuini S/Centre & adjacent customers.

In Mombasa, the areas which will be affected include Nyali Cinemax, Part of Mkomani, Kongowea, Ratna Square, Kongowea Methodist, Kongowea Market, Arti Villa Kongowea, Kengeleni, Nyali Bridge, Dog Section, Safaricom, Jocham Hosp, Part of Msomoroni, Kisauni, Sayyed Fatuma, Mlaleo Twiga Road, Nyali DCC Office, Kongowea Catholic, Makaburini, Maweni, Simba Estate, Nyali Plaza and adjacent customers.

Areas which will be affected in Kakamega County include Muduma, Bushiri Market and Health Center, Shironyanga, Lower Ingotse Market, Shirakwe Market, Simuli Secondary School and adjacent customers.
