Waithira’s heroics not enough as Bandari end Murang’a Seal’s unbeaten streak
By Luke Oluoch, February 21, 2026Bandari FC have ended Murang’a Seal’s four-game unbeaten run in the league after a battling 3-2 defeat in the San Sebastian Arena this Saturday, February 21, 2026.
The clash pitting the two former Kenyan internationals promised and delivered all in tactical genius and breathtaking end-to-end offensive excellence from both sets of teams.
Waithira on the goals again
Seal’s mercurial striker and FKF PL reigning top scorer Joe Waithira leveled the proceedings for the host ten minutes after the restart to cancel out Andrew Juma’s opener in the first half.
The former Wazito man slammed home from a brilliant cutback to beat Allaine Ngeleka at goal, handing the home side a lifeline back to the tie.
The in-song form hotshot completed his brace with Seal’s second on the 70th mark to send the home fans into a frenzy as the Osborne Monday side turned the tie on its head.
Bandari rallies back
A win and maximum points at their home arena was, however, curtailed as Dockers clawed back to serve their host a taste of their own medicine in a surreal late fightback.
Bernard Mwala’s charges responded promptly through Geoffrey Ojunga, who silenced a rejuvenated home crowd as the hotly contested tie wore on.

The visitors claimed the last laugh when Shariff Majabe pounced late on to score the match’s clincher, much to the chagrin of the home fans.
The defeat, Seal’s first since their heartbreaking 3-2 slump at the hands of Gor Mahia, leaves the club at fifth on 33 points, ten behind the log leaders.
Leopards, Shabana triumph
In other clashes, AFC Leopards downed Posta Rangers 2-1 at Nyayo National Stadium to keep pressure on Gor Mahia at the top of the pile.
Madada set the tone for the win with a venomous shot from outside the area from his weaker left foot to break the deadlock 11 minutes in.
The host doubled their advantage after Odhiambo scored from close range to give Ingwe the two-goal cushion at the break.
Robert Ponda’s strike only counted as a mere consolation for the visitors, as Leopards lifted their point haul to 40 points.
Shabana FC were also on the winning side with a solitary goal victory over Tusker FC at the Gusii Stadium.
