Tuesday blackout to affect Nairobi, 11 other counties

Kenya Power has announced a temporary blackout scheduled for Tuesday, March 26, affecting 12 counties, including Nairobi County.

In a statement on Monday, March 25, the utility company cited routine maintenance as the reason for the electricity interruption.

The affected regions include parts of Nairobi County, Uasin Gishu County, Trans Nzoia County, Bungoma County, Busia County, Homa Bay County, Migori County, Nyamira County, Kisii County, Nyeri County, Kirinyaga County and Kiambu County.

In Nairobi County, areas such as Brookside Drive, Grevillea Groove and Muguga Green will experience the blackout from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Additionally, parts of Ngong Road and Kibera will also be affected during the same timeframe.

Residents in Uasin Gishu County in areas like Ngecheck and Ngeria will experience the interruption from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, while those in Trans Nzoia County, including Chepchoina and Kimondo, will be affected from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

In Bungoma County, the blackout will affect areas around Matisi Water Treatment Plant from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Similarly, parts of Busia County, Homa Bay County, Migori County, Nyamira County, Kisii County, Nyeri County, Kirinyaga County, and Kiambu County will experience interruptions ranging from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
