DP Ruto’s mother arrives at Bomas ahead of unveiling of president-elect

Sarah Cheruiyot, the mother of Kenya Kwanza presidential flag bearer William Ruto, has arrived at Bomas of Kenya ahead of the official declaration of the presidential results.

Mama Sarah arrived at the national tallying centre a few minutes past 4:00 pm, in the company of close family members, to witness the announcement of the winner of the Tuesday, August 9, presidential election.

The outgoing deputy president and Azimio One Kenya coalition candidate Raila Odinga are the front runners in the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Others present include the DP’s wife Rachael Ruto, their son Nick Ruto, close family members and friends.

By the time of going to press, Raila’s entourage was yet to make its way to Bomas.

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Wafula Chebukati is expected to announce the presidential results on Monday afternoon.
