4 counties to be affected by power interruptions on Wednesday

The Kenya Power and Lighting Company has announced power interruptions in four counties for scheduled maintenance.

In a statement on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, Kenya Power announced that the outage will partially affect Machakos, Kakamega, Embu and Nyeri Counties.

The interruptions will happen between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, with the outages lasting different periods depending on the location.

In Machakos, the areas that will be affected include Kapiti Plains, Kwa Katheke, Kiasa, Lower Kalimani, Dlima, Kalima, Kathei, Kyumvi Junction, Lukenya Village, Lukenya Motocross, Daystar University, Stoni Athi and adjacent customers.

The power outage in Machakos will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

In Kakamega County, the outage, which will occur between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm, will affect Ibinga, Likuyani Centre, Likuyani Health Centre, Likuyani Secondary School, Sango, Mapera Secondary School, Mapera Centre, Sango Water Pump, Safari Communications Boosters and adjacent customers.

In Embu, the blackout will be experienced between 9.00 am and 2.00 pm in areas such as Siakago Town, Gitiburi, Gikuyari, Cianyi, Mwangaza, Minuri, Muchonoke, Maramuri, Kiamuringa and adjacent customers.

In Nyeri, the power outage will be experienced from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm in Mweiga, Amboni, Bondeni, Endarasha, Embaringo, Kimunyuru, Solio Ranch, Kamatongu, General Garagi and adjacent customers.
