List of areas scheduled for power blackout on Friday

Kenya Power issued a notice informing Kenyans of a scheduled blackout on Friday, April 26, 2024.

The utility firm in the notice on its website said that the power interruption is necessary to facilitate maintenance and upgrade of power lines to the network.

“Notice is hereby given under Rule 27 of the Electric Power Rules that the electricity supply will be interrupted as here under: (It is necessary to interrupt supply periodically to facilitate maintenance and upgrade of power lines to the network; to connect new customers or to replace power lines during construction, etc.),” Kenya Power said.

The utility firm noted that the Friday power interruption will affect Murang’a County.

Kenya Power said that parts of Murang’a County will be in blackout for eight hours, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The areas affected include; Shadenet, Maporomoko, Karangaita Coffee Est, IPM Farm, Penta Flowers, Parts of Ngoigwa Est, Simbi Roses Est and adjacent customers.
