Churchill Show comedian MC Jessy, whose real name is Jasper Muthomi, has affirmed to K24 Digital that his indulgence in politics eying South Imenti parliamentary seat was not a joke as many assumed.
Speaking to this writer in Athi River, MC Jessy said he was committed to seeking the seat and heavily invested in campaigns with a vision of serving his constituencies.
The comedian says he has not given up and is set for a comeback in politics in the 2027 General Election.
“Ala I was serious that I wanted to serve my people. It was not a comedy. Why would I invest big money for a joke?” Jessy posed.
Moses Kuria
The comedian-turned-politician further disclosed that Trade, Investment and Industrialization Cabinet Secretary (CS) Moses Kuria encouraged him to join politics.
Jessy said he was hesitant but Kuria urged him to overcome his fear and focus on testing his popularity.
