Friday blackout to affect 2 counties

Kenya Power has announced a scheduled blackout expected to affect two counties today, Friday, May 17, 2024.

According to a statement by Kenya Power, the planned blackout which is a part of network maintenance will affect Kisii and Murang’a counties.

“Good Evening. The listed areas will be affected by planned power interruptions tomorrow (17th May, 2024). The interruption is part of network maintenance,” a statement shared by the utility company on Thursday reads in parts.

In Kisii, the blackout will affect part of Ogembo area including Ogembo Sports Club, MRF Tyres, Junior Farms Ogembo, Getare Primary, Gituno TBC and adjacent customers.

The areas will be affected from 9 am to 4 pm.

The blackout in Murang’a will affect Maporomoko and Ngoingwa areas from 9 am to 5 pm.

Part of the areas that will be affected include; Shade Net, Maporomoko, Karangaita Coffee Estate, IPM Farm, Penta Flowers, Simbi Roses, Ngoingwa Estate and adjacent customers.
