Friday blackout to affect 2 counties

Kenya Power has announced a scheduled power blackout affecting two counties on Friday, March 15, 2024.

The utility company cited network maintenance as the reason for the planned interruption.

“Good Evening. The listed areas will be affected by planned power interruptions tomorrow (15th March, 2024). The interruption is part of network maintenance,” Kenya Power stated.

The utility company said the planned electricity interruption would affect parts of Homa Bay and Kilifi counties.

The outage is expected to last from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in parts of Homa Bay County.

Residents in Nyamome, Bondeni, Nyabisawa, Abwao, Mukuro, Masara, God Kwer, Chungni, Nyarongi, Mikei, and adjacent areas should anticipate the interruption.

Additionally, areas including Kirindo, Kombe, and Kaugege, along with Ngiya Health Center, Mbita Market, and Rusinga Island, will experience the temporary blackout.

Meanwhile, parts of Kilifi County will also be affected by the scheduled blackout.

Commencing from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., areas such as Mtondia and Chumani, including Tezo, Roka, Magorani, Zowerani, Ngerenya, and adjacent areas, will experience the temporary power interruption.
