4 counties to experience power interruptions on Tuesday

Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions in four counties due to routine maintenance.

Among the four counties set to experience power outages on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, include Nairobi, Machakos, Kajiado and Mombasa.

The power outages will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

In Nairobi, power interruptions will be recorded in Runda Groove, Ruaka Groove, Runda Drive, Mimosa Vale, Mimosa Road, Mimosa Ridge, Mimosa Groove, Mimosa Gardens, Runda Mumwe, Eliud Mathu, Andrew and Elia Zagorettis, Mae Ridge, Pan African Insurance, GIory Road, Faith Avenue, Runda Riviera, Benin Road, Githogoro Slum, Northern Bypas and adjacent customers.

In Machakos, Konza Techno polis, KoTda, Ola Petrol Station, parts of Mombasa Road and adjacent customers will experience power outages.

Parts of Mombasa Road that will experience power interruption include Brava Foods, Swara Acacia Lodge, Small World Country Club, Kusyombunguo, Game Ranch and adjacent customers.

In Kajiado County, Imara Steel, Zeneth, Majani Bora, Jumbo Tank Masai Rural, Isinya Eggs and adjacent customers will experience power outages.

In Mombasa, parts of Kizingo and Likoni Towers will have a blackout on Tuesday.

Places that will experience power outages include Nova, Hotpoint, G4S Offices, Frank Ltd, Mama Ngina Complex, Likoni Towers, Aga Khan Academy, Oceanic Apartments, Seven View Apartments and adjacent customers.

Tokens system outage

On Monday night, Kenya Power announced that there was a technical glitch affecting M-Pesa preventing prepaid customers from buying electricity tokens currently.

“The responsible team is working to resolve the hitch, and we expect to resume normal service as soon as possible. Customers are advised to alternative vending channels including Equitel, Airtel Money and KCB Bank,” the utility firm said in a statement.
