Spain vs Belgium: Confirmed teams and full line-up

Spain and Belgium have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of their highly anticipated 2026 FIFA World Cup quarter-final in Los Angeles, with a place in the semi-finals against France at stake.
Spain head into the match full of confidence after eliminating Portugal 1-0 in the Round of 16 thanks to Mikel Merino’s dramatic stoppage-time winner. Luis de la Fuente’s side has also been one of the tournament’s standout teams defensively, having not conceded a goal so far.
The European champions have made just one change to the team that beat Portugal, with Fabian Ruiz replacing Pedri in midfield. Teenager Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo and captain Mikel Oyarzabal lead the attack, while Nico Williams returns to the matchday squad after missing the last two games with an adductor injury. However, he starts on the bench alongside Yeremy Pino, who has recovered enough from a fractured collarbone to be named among the substitutes.
Spain’s starting lineup features Unai Simon in goal, with Pedro Porro, Aymeric Laporte, Pau Cubarsi and Marc Cucurella in defence. Rodri anchors the midfield alongside Fabian Ruiz and Alex Baena.
Belgium also made two changes following their impressive 4-1 victory over co-hosts the United States in the last 16. Charles De Ketelaere, who scored twice in that match, keeps his place in attack, while captain Kevin De Bruyne and winger Jeremy Doku return to the starting eleven.
The Red Devils have been dealt a blow after midfielder Amadou Onana suffered a serious knee injury against the United States and will miss the quarter-final. Defender Zeno Debast is also unavailable because of a leg injury.
Belgium will start with Thibaut Courtois in goal, while Brandon Mechele, Maxim De Cuyper, Timothy Castagne and Nathan Ngoy form the defence. Kevin De Bruyne, Youri Tielemans and Nicolas Raskin make up the midfield, with Leandro Trossard, Jeremy Doku and Charles De Ketelaere leading the attack.
The winner of Friday’s clash will face France in the World Cup semi-finals in Dallas, setting up another heavyweight European showdown as the race for the trophy enters its final stages.
