Reports: Jurgen Klopp agrees deal to coach Germany after disastrous World Cup campaign
Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is set to return to football management after agreeing to become Germany’s national team’s new head coach.
Football journalist Fabrizio Romano has disclosed the deal between the German gaffer, 59, and the German FA on Sunday, July 5, 2026.
Part of the negotiations with the German Football Association involved agreeing to a long-term contract and finalising relevant project details alongside his exit from the Red Bull Group.

Upon his leaving Liverpool, Klopp took up a role as head of global soccer with the Red Bull organisation and was tasked with overseeing Red Bull’s entire international network of football clubs across Europe and America.

His appointment completes his return to management after two years away. managed Liverpool, whom he led to the 2019 Champions League title, and also his team secured the Premier League title in the 2019/20 season, ending the club’s 30-year wait for a top-flight league trophy.
