West Ham coach Nuno insists Hammers will go all out against Arsenal
West Ham United head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has asserted that his team will give their all when they host Arsenal this Sunday, May 10, 2026, in a decisive English Premier League encounter at the London Stadium.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Nuno acknowledged that the Hammers face a massive challenge against the league leaders.
While Mikel Arteta looks to consolidate a lead that was cut to just two points following Manchester City’s win against Brentford on Saturday, May 9, 2026, the Hammers are locked in a completely different struggle.
Relegation scrap
The East London outfit is in the middle of a bruising fight for Premier League survival, with only three matches remaining after the Arsenal encounter. The club dropped into the relegation zone following last weekend’s damaging 3-0 defeat at Brentford, but Nuno insists his squad is up for the challenge.
Tough mission
“We have a mission in our hands, and it is tough. But we believe in ourselves. Our boys are going to give everything. The season has been about commitment and hard work,” Nuno said.
The Portuguese manager insisted his team will not back down, urging them to embrace the pressure of the relegation battle.
“We have to realise the situation; we cannot hide from it. At West Ham, we never give up. We have to embrace the challenge we are in,” he stated.
The gaffer also expressed optimism that them playing at home would become a critical factor in the tie as they seek to stop the in-form opposition that has been in cruise form both at home and in the UEFA Champions League.
“Being at home is good for us, especially recently. Our fans are being really, really helpful. It’s always nervy; especially in the final games of the season, there is always anxiety. It’s up to us to try and control our nerves and deliver what we want.”
The coach will have a full fit squad to choose from, with only former Gunners custodian Łukasz Fabiański the only injury concern.
On their part, Arsenal’s only injury concerns surround Jurrien Timber, who continues to rehab a groin injury sustained against Everton six weeks ago, and Mikel Merino, who has been out since January.
The encounter will kick off at 6:30 pm.
