Weekend fixtures as 2025/26 Kenya Cup title race heats up

Kenya Cup bigwigs will be in action on Saturday, February 28, 2026 across different venues nationwide as the 2025/26 season title race heats up.
Saturday fixtures
Masinde Muliro University (MMUST) will welcome Strathmore Leos in an early kickoff at the Masinde Muliro University grounds, starting at 3:00 pm local. At the ASK Showgrounds in Mamboleo, hosts Kisumu RFC will welcome Nakuru RFC for a 4:00 pm kickoff.
At Impala Grounds in Nairobi, homeside Impala will host Kenya Harlequin in a fixture scheduled to start at 4:00 pm, while at the same time, Daystar Falcons will play host to KU Blak Blad at Daystar University Athi River.
Heavyweights Kabras will be at the ASK Showgrounds in Kakamega to entertain Nondescript at 4:00 pm, as Menengai Oliers host KCB Rugby at the ASK Showgrounds in Nakuru starting at 4:00 pm East African Time.
Table standings
Defending champions Kabras Sugar RFC continue to set the pace at the top of the Kenya Cup standings after matchday eight, sitting comfortably on forty points. Hot on their heels are Menengai Oilers, who also boast forty points, while KCB Rugby remain firmly in the mix at position three with thirty-nine points.
The top three look well settled for now, with all three sides still unbeaten, turning the title race into a battle of consistency and nerve as the season edges closer to the final stretch.
The fight for the playoff spots is where the real tension lies. Strathmore Leos currently occupy position four, but Daystar Falcons are breathing down their necks after back-to-back wins that have pushed them firmly into contention.
KU Blak Blad sit sixth with nineteen points, keeping their playoff hopes alive. It has been a bumpy ride for Nondescripts RFC, who, despite having a game in hand, have managed only fourteen points.
The relegation battle is even tighter, stretching from position eight to twelve. Kenya Harlequins, Nakuru RFC, and Impala RFC are all tied on twelve points, separated only by goal difference.
Below the red line sit MMUST Rugby with ten points and Kisumu RFC with eight. With just three matches left, the table could shift in any direction as playoff ambitions grow sharper and the relegation axe looms ever larger.
