We are still in the race: Muyoti affirms Police’s title prospects ahead of Gor Mahia visit
Reigning Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League champions Police FC have remained adamant that they are still in the race to defend their league title despite trailing leaders Gor Mahia by 13 points with fewer than four games to conclude the season.
Speaking to the club portal on Saturday, May 9, 2026, Nicholas Muyoti insisted that they have not given up yet on the title and will give all to waging a defense until the last minute.
Muyoti, who has been central to the law enforcers’ revival after taking the reins midway through the season, labelled their Sunday, May 10, clash against leaders Gor the perfect moment to further demonstrate their title ambitions.
Revival under Muyoti
“From the time I came, the progression has been well, and confidence has been growing. I am happy with the output, the response, and the manner in which we have fought back as a team,” he stated.
“We are not done with the title. We are still in it, fighting, and we will fight to the end. The game against Gor is a perfect opportunity to send that statement, and I believe the boys will show just that.

“They boys know the league is running away, but they are in for the fight. They have told me they are still in it, so we have to push until the end. Facing Gor Mahia is a motivation in itself, and I know they will rise to the occassion,” he stated.
Upset
His sentiments were echoed by Abud Omar, who lauded the team preparation and readiness for the blockbuster encounter at Nyayo National Stadium.
“The training and preparation have been good. We are braced for Gor: they have a tough team, and we will need to be at our best,” he stated.
The law enforcers have transformed into one of the most improved teams in the league, leveraging a solid defensive line to their advantage.
The outfit will look to throw another spanner in the works, having similarly stunned AFC Leopards in a past encounter at Nyayo.
