Levis Opiyo and Rupia among Kenyan trio angling for CAF action in Sunday fixtures
By Luke Oluoch, February 8, 2026Levis Opiyo is among the host of Kenyan players abroad who will be in action as the CAF Confederation Cup games resume with matchday five clashes this Sunday, February 8, 2026.
Opiyo’s new club, Zesco United, will play host to Egyptian giants Zamalek SC at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
The 7:00 pm clash will see the former Posta Rangers and AFC Leopards custodian face off against another Kenyan, Baron Ochieng, who joined the White Knights in September 2025.
The member of the Kenya U20 Rising Stars side has, however, featured predominantly for the reserves team with a few appearances in between for the senior team.
Opiyo debuts with Zesco
Opiyo made his continental debut in Zesco’s 1-0 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday, February 1, 2026, in Durban.
The experienced keeper earned the starting spot between the sticks days after joining the club.
The custodian was among the long list of Kenyan stars on the move in January 2026, joining Timu Ya Ziko from FKF PL side Bandari FC.

Meanwhile, Elvis Rupia of Singida Black Stars will also be out to help his team return to winning ways as they face CR Belouizdad in Tanzania this Sunday, February 8, 2026.
Rupia on the goals
Rupia, who joined his compatriot Dancan Omallo among the Kenyans on the scores in matchday three fixtures, looks to inspire the Black Stars to another win.
The former AFC man was instrumental in Black Stars’ 1-0 win over AS Otoho on January 26, 2026, scoring the all-important goal against the Congolese team.
Saturday, February 7, 202,6 fixtures saw Harambee Stars aces battling to contrasting fortunes in the CAF games.
Abuya, Shumah on CAF stage
