Gor Mahia fete top performers in end-of season awards gala
By Luke Oluoch, June 10, 2026New Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia FC, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, held a colourful dinner where the club’s most outstanding players and members of the technical bench were recognised after an impressive 2026 season.
The event in Nairobi was attended by club patron Eliud Owalo, chair Ambrose Rachier, and other dignitaries, marking a fitting finale to the successful campaign that saw the team earn their 22nd league crown.
Among the feted were left-back Bryton Onyona, who was named the Breakthrough Player of the Season, and Ghanaian maestro Enock Morrison, who was voted the Player of the Season.
Morrison picked up the Football Kenya Federation Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Midfielder of the Year accolades a week ago in the league end-season awards gala.

In his first full season with the Gor Mahia senior team, the marauding left-back has featured in 32 of the 33 league matches.
Paul Ochuoga was voted Defender of the Season, capping off a fine campaign for the deadlocked ace who has locked in the full back position at the club.

Long-serving midfielder Ernest Wendo also took home a couple of awards. The mainstay was honoured by the club chair for his performance, character, and commitment as he bids farewell after a stint that saw him at the club for over a decade.
Another departee, Philemon Otieno, the team captain, walked home with the Most Dedicated Player accolade.
Both Wendo and Otieno have confirmed their departure from the club and were fittingly given a red carpet farewell in the team’s final league match against Nairobi United.
Other winners included Sharif Musa, who was voted the Most Improved Player of the Season and Ebenezer Adu-Kwaw, whose long-range missile in K’Ogalo’s first-leg win against Sofapaka was crowned the best goal.
Tobias Onyango, a member of the renowned Gor Mahia team choir vibe team, was also feted as the best fan of the year.
