The new winners of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League for the 2025/26 season, Gor Mahia FC, have celebrated their fans for outstanding support following the crowning on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Nyayo Stadium.

In a heartfelt post on their social media page, Gor Mahia hailed the fans for the invaluable support throughout the season as Kenya’s most decorated club clinched a record-breaking 22nd league title after finishing the season with 69 points.

Gor marked their league climax with a 1-0 loss to Nairobi United, but the defeat was not to dampen the high spirits and carnival mood at Nyayo National Stadium as the club faithful, once more as they had religiously undertaken all season, turned out in big numbers to fittingly cap off a successful season.

Tribute to fans

In the fitting tribute, K’Ogalo hailed the special bond the fans had fostered with the club, describing it as the lifeblood of their very existence.

“The streets of Nairobi turned into a sea of green and white as thousands of our supporters made their way to the CBD. The incredible turnout, passionate chants, and unwavering support are the true reflections of the special bond between the club and our loyal fans,” Gor stated.

The record champions also recognised the ever-reliant presence of the fans during the actual crowning moment, stressing that the victory belongs to them too.

“Thank you, K’Ogalo faithful, for standing with the team throughout the season and for making this celebration memorable. This trophy belongs to all of us,” the club’s statement added.

The message mirrored a similar moving tribute delivered by the club vice-chair, Sally Bolo, moments after the team got their hands on the swanking trophy at Nyayo. Bolo made an emotional recollection of what the club’s 22nd title meant to her as a person while conveying her gratitude to the people involved in making the feat a success.

She described the club as champions both on the pitch and in the stands, in reference to the fans’ invaluable support of their beloved club.

Champions on pitch and on stands

“Standing on that podium, looking at a sea of green, I was reminded that championships are never won by individuals; they are won by a family united by one dream. And to the K’Ogalo faithful, thank you for filling Nyayo Stadium and standing with us every step of the way. Your energy, passion, and loyalty turned every match into a home game.

Today, we celebrate being crowned the SportPesa League champions. This trophy belongs to every player, every official, every partner, and every fan who believes in Gor Mahia,” she said.

Among others who have sent messages of congratulation to the team are President William Ruto, who singled out the club for playing a major part in flying the name of the country high through its achievements and exploits through the game.
