As individuals like Moses Shumah and Aldrine Kibet announced their names, in their first taste of a foreign league, others made their mark in telling fashion, cementing their evergreen status at local club levels.

Historic leap for women’s Football
The year also saw a massive leap for women’s football, with the Harambee Starlets showcasing their quality in the FIFA Series alongside several fine individual performances at the club level.
Overall, Kenya made history by qualifying for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) for only the second time, sealing the historic feat on October 28, 2025.

Among the standouts were the Kenyan duo at FC Farul Constanța: first-choice goalkeeper Lilian Awuor and defender Enez Mango. The pair successfully retained their league championship and made a significant mark in the Romanian top tier.

The Kenyan contingent at Simba SC was also among the standout performers of Kenyan football, making waves beyond the nation’s frontiers.
Simba Queens successfully reclaimed the league title from JKT Queens, with Corazon Aquino captaining the side and Cynthia Shilwatso and Jentrix Shikangwa once again emerging as the league’s leading scorers.
