Darius Msagha’s 70th-minute strike was all that home side Bandari FC needed to silence defending champions Kenya Police FC in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League fixture staged at KPA Sports Club on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

The win was coach Benard Mwalala’s third in four matches since returning to the Dockers side earlier in the month from Shabana FC.

The win places Bandari 6th on the log, boasting solid recent form, having won four of their last five matches. The dockers have now scored 15 goals this season, conceded 11, and kept eight clean sheets, underlining their growing defensive stability.

Kenya Police, meanwhile, sit fourth in the standings and have been equally productive in front of goal, also scoring 14 times while conceding 12. The law enforcers have managed nine clean sheets and remain difficult to break down, especially in big matches.

Pre-match stats

Heading into the fixture, recent head-to-head meetings slightly favoured Kenya Police, who have won three of the last five encounters, with one draw and one victory for Bandari. Notably, the police have kept a clean sheet in each of their last three matches against the coastal side.

At home, Bandari has been resilient. They are unbeaten in their last seven league matches on home soil and have found the net in six of those fixtures, a statistic that offers encouragement ahead of the clash.

Before the fixture, season statistics per 90 minutes showed Kenya Police enjoying a more aggressive attacking approach, averaging 13.7 shots compared to Bandari’s 12.1. Police also lead in chances created (7.2 vs 4.9), crosses attempted (15.1 vs 11.1), and corners won (6.0 vs 4.0), suggesting they pose a consistent threat in the final third.

Bandari, however, edge their opponents in aerial success and cross efficiency, pointing to their strength in physical duels and set-piece situations. Both teams post strong passing numbers, with accuracy levels above 84 per cent.
