K’Ogalo or Leopards? Gor Mahia choir coordinator delivers verdict on who’s playing better football
By Luke Oluoch, March 13, 2026Gor Mahia Choir lead coordinator Leonard Ong’owo, alias Taya Dok, has made a bold claim, admitting that AFC Leopards are currently playing better football than Gor Mahia.
Speaking on Friday, March 13, 2026, during an interview with a local online media portal, Taya Dok also claimed that K’Ogallo, as currently constituted, lacked a formidable second team.
His sentiments came after a squad largely comprised of reserves suffered a shocking elimination against minnows BB Bread FC during the FKF Cup round of 16 tie on Sunday, March 8, 2026.
Ingwe tactically better
“I wish not to be biased, but AFC Leopards are currently playing a better tactical game than Gor Mahia. So to our coaches and all our members, our performance this season is not the Gor Mahia we know,” he posited.
“At Gor Mahia now, we only have a first 11, with no second team. When the second team has been given chances, they have played as if they have never trained,” he added.

Dok also sensationally claimed that the team management should consider drastically reducing the number of players in the squad and focus on working with a dedicated group.
According to the man renowned for leading energetic chants and composing songs, there are way too many players within the team who have already proven they cannot deliver.
Dok on reducing squad
“We currently have so many players, and it is where we are messing up. Most of them are very complacent. I don’t know if it’s about the salaries or what it is about. Some of them will finish the season without playing or play like players who have not been training when given the chance. My opinion to the team’s SC is, “Why can’t we try to work with a squad of 24 players or even 20 and see what comes out of it?” he opined.

In the tight race between the two perennial local archrivals, Dok remained optimistic that the runaway leaders would eventually pip Leopards to the title.
“I hope individual brilliance can make us win the league because we have good players. But we are lacking in tactics. We have been struggling,” he added.
Dok concluded by rallying the fanbase in a raucous war cry against their weekend clash. Gor Mahia will be on enemy territory with a trip to Ulinzi Sports Complex against Ulinzi Stars on Sunday, March 15, 2026.
The FKF PL leaders are currently just six points above AFC Leopards.
