Harambee Stars ace Moses Shumah helps Dynamos near CAF progression with win over Berkane

Harambee Star ace Moses Shumah has helped his team to a crucial 2-0 win over RS Berkane in the CAF Champions League Group C tie staged at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

Shumah started the tie as Dynamos avenged a first-leg defeat from the Moroccans, thus fortifying their chance to achieve continental progression from the tough group.

The Kenyan featured immensely before being withdrawn just before the ninety-minute mark.

2-0 win

Ronnel Manyanga gave Olswal Mutapa’s team the lead with a left-footed shot from close range early in the second half.

Despite dominating much of the spells, Dynamos failed to make it count and build on their lead.

A difficult afternoon for the visitors was sealed late in the game after the Zambian champions grabbed a second.

The victory now leaves Dynamos in contention to proceed from the group, coming after the side edged Rivers United to further redeem their chances.

Dynamos kicked off their campaign on a dismal note, losing back-to-back clashes against Berkane and Pyramids.

The team’s turnaround of form came in the Week Three clash, where they held Rivers United to a draw to pick up their first points of the group stage.

They built on the win to edge the Nigerian opposition in the return leg, moving their point haul to four.

Top scorer

The latest win now sees them up to seven points, the the same as Berkane and three behind leaders Pyramids.

Shumah finished the 2025 FKF PL league as the top scorer with 17 goals, a feat that earned him a move to the record-time Zambia champions.

He has scored seven league goals in Zambia to emerge among the best scorers of the league halfway through the season.

He is ranked ahead of Christopher Itak of Congo, who has scored six goals, while Albert Kangwada and Collins Sikombe come in third and fourth with four goals apiece.

Shumah’s prowess in front of goal has also been key to Dynamos’ title defense quest, with the side leading the standings after 17 games with points.
