Immediate former Shabana FC head coach Peter Okidi has been named the FKF Premier League Coach of the Month for February.

The tactician, who parted ways with the club mid-March, was crowned the league’s best manager after guiding Tore Bobe to a perfect, unbeaten streak throughout February.

Under Okidi’s tutelage, Shabana emerged as the league’s standout performer, securing four consecutive victories and maintaining an unblemished defensive record with zero goals conceded.

Despite leading the club to a comfortable third position in the ongoing campaign, Okidi’s tenure came to an abrupt end when the club and coach parted ways by mutual agreement. He has since been replaced on an interim basis by his assistant, Mark Ongwae.

Aroko claims Player of the Month

Meanwhile, Kariobangi Sharks’ attacking sensation Humphrey Aroko has also been recognised with the Player of the Month accolade.

The young talent, who rose through the ranks at Highway High School, has spearheaded the Sharks’ survival quest. He scored twice and claimed as many assists in four games for William Muluya’s team.

Aroko’s poker in FKF Cup

His standout performance included a clinical demolition of Kenyatta University (KU) in the FKF Cup Round of 32. That feat cemented his status as one of the competition’s leading scorers and secured the Sharks a berth in the Round of 16, where they are set to face top-flight opposition in the shape of a rejuvenated Tusker FC.

Sharks, who have endured a difficult season, will fancy their chances in the knockout competition, having performed remarkably well in past campaigns.
