The Nairobi United vs Wydad Casablanca CAF Confederation Cup is set to feature an array of former European stars as the Moroccan side comes to play in Nairobi this Sunday, February 8, 2026.

Former Chelsea and Ajax hotshot Hakim Ziyech and ex-Sevilla and France international Wissam Ben Yedder are among the household stars who could be involved for the tie.

The pair was named in the team travelling squad for the Group B match.

The clash at Moi Sports Centre, Kasarani, will also feature other stars in the team ranks, such as Noordin Amrabat, who recently made headlines during the AFCON games in a post-match interview with Senegal talisman Sadio Mane.

The player, conspicuous for his similar looks to his brother, Sofiane, shared a wholesome moment with Mane, who was seemingly astonished to be interviewed by a familiar face. Upon close examination and recognising Amrabat’s face, Mane and the Moroccan shared a hug and smiles in a moment that went viral during the 2025 AFCON games held in Morocco.

Amine Benhachem’s team seeks to secure an advantage against the lowly ranked team with zero points in the group. The Morocans are level on nine points, the same as Azam FC and AS Maniema.

They previously beat Nairobi United 3-0 in the reverse fixture on November 23, 2025.

Azam will be next in their final fixture of the group as Nairobi United also hit the road to face AS Maniema

With the match serving as a dead rubber, Benhachem lauded the spirit of Kenyan football fans, especially after their showing in the 2024 CHAN games.

“What we saw in CHAN was really motivating. Knowing that Morocco only lost against Kenya, the atmosphere proves that the Kenyan population loves football. I am really honoured to be among the people and here for the game,” he stated.
