Transfer News: Lewis-Skelly keen on Arsenal stay despite Man United, Chelsea links

Arsenal and England international young left-back Myles Lewis-Skelly is determined to fight for his place at the Emirates Stadium despite increased competition at left-back and in midfield that has made him a target for other clubs.
The academy graduate joined Arsenal as an eight-year-old and made his first-team breakthrough during the 2024-25 season.
His profile has since grown tremendously with his versatile nature and sheer dominance and strength among his unique repertoire of a fast and up footballer.
Since his Arsenal debut, the youngster has made 75 first-team appearances for Arsenal and has been capped six times by England though he was not part of Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad in 2026.
Versatile youngster
Traditionally deployed as a left-back, he showcased his versatility by excelling in his preferred position of central midfield toward the end of their 2026 title-winning campaign, followed by a surprise start in the 2026 UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest on May 30, 2026.
However, with stiff competition at left-back and the arrival of Bruno Guimarães further crowding Mikel Arteta’s midfield options, the Gunners are aware of the need to balance their squad, and the youngster could potentially be among those considered for an outbound transfer.
Potential swap deal
According to The Athletic, Arsenal are not actively offering the England international for sale, but they could consider a deal if a significant offer arrives that makes good business sense.
Manchester United have already been linked with the player as they continue their search for a long-term replacement for Luke Shaw. The Red Devils appear to be frontrunners, though other suitors such as Crystal Palace remain in the mix.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have also entered the race, according to Sky Sports and football journalist David Ornstein.
The latter has revealed that discussions between the clubs are still in the early stages, but they could pave the way for a potential swap deal that would see winger Pedro Neto move in the opposite direction.
According to the journalist, both clubs view the potential additions as mutually beneficial solutions that could help seal the agreement.
