Bruno Fernandes was the star of the match, scoring his second-ever league hat-trick—five years after his first against Leeds United—as United edged the newcomers to secure their first league win after opening their campaign with a 2-0 loss to Hull City a week ago.

Former Arsenal man Chuba Akpom reduced the deficit for Gary O’Neil’s side in added time, but United capped off an emphatic home performance to claim all three points.
