Arsenal transfer: Updates on Gabriel Jesus and Bruno Guimaraes as Norgaard departs

Brazilian duo Gabriel Jesus and Bruno Guimarães are among the headlining names in Arsenal’s transfer news as the summer window heats up.
Bruno Guimarães imminent
The Brazilian midfielder has signed his contract as a new Arsenal player, with his formal announcement expected shortly.
Reports indicate that his medical was completed and final contracts were signed on Thursday evening. This comes days after the Gunners and Newcastle United reached a major breakthrough, agreeing on a compromise fee of around Ksh13 billion for the midfielder.
To clear squad space and wage capacity for Guimarães, Mikel Arteta sanctioned the departure of Danish international Christian Nørgaard, who has joined Everton for €8.2m (£7m).

Nørgaard leaves North London having featured during Arsenal’s Premier League title campaign, as well as their runs to the Champions League final and the Carabao Cup final.
Álvarez and Romero
Meanwhile, Arsenal remain among the top clubs interested in Argentine international stars Julián Álvarez and Cristian Romero after their protracted pursuit of Vinicius Junior ended following his commitment to Real Madrid with a new contract on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
- Julián Álvarez: With the Atlético Madrid attacker currently heavily linked to Barcelona despite a steep price tag, the Gunners are holding out hope that Atlético will refuse to sell to a direct La Liga rival, potentially opening the door for a move to North London.

- Cristian Romero: Arsenal are also monitoring the situation surrounding the Tottenham skipper. However, Spurs remain entirely unwilling to sell their star defender to their fiercest North London rivals.
Gabriel Jesus links to Italy
On the departures front, Gabriel Jesus could be set to leave London for Serie A.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Italian side Napoli has contacted the 28-year-old’s camp regarding a potential summer move.
Arsenal are reportedly only open to a permanent transfer for the forward, who has scored 32 goals and provided 18 assists in 123 appearances since joining the Gunners from Manchester City.
