Arsenal transfer news: Gunners eye Juventus winger after snub by Vinicius Junior
By Luke Oluoch, August 9, 2026English Premier League sides continue their preseason preparations with friendly matches heading into the new season. Transfer activity remains key, with clubs seeking to bolster their ranks ahead of the new campaign.
Arsenal are among those clubs, with several of their stars linked with moves as of Sunday, August 9, 2026.
The Gunners are said to be pivoting quickly after the failed move for Real Madrid winger Vinícius Júnior. According to reports, the Londoners have now shifted their sights to Juventus winger Kenan Yıldız.
Arsenal are reportedly nearing an agreement with the Turkish forward and are in advanced negotiations to bring the 21-year-old to the Emirates Stadium. The wonderkid signed a long-term contract extension with Binconeri in 2026, keeping him at the club until June 30, 2030, but is interested in a possible switch to England.
Martinelli follows Jesus on possible Arsenal exits
These links come a day after the Gunners settled their midfield with the arrival of Bruno Guimarães. Arsenal seem to have addressed that department, making a move for Kenan Yıldız their new priority.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been linked with another departing Brazilian, left winger Gabriel Martinelli. He has been the subject of transfer links to Turkish giants Galatasaray, who have made an offer for a double winger swoop that also targets Rafael Leão of AC Milan.
The links surrounding Gabriel Martinelli come after Arsenal were also reported to be willing to listen to permanent offers for his compatriot, Gabriel Jesus, who has been linked with Italian side Napoli.

In addition, the Gunners continue to be linked with a shock move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero. Cristian Romero is said to be willing to join his current employer’s fiercest rivals, despite the transfer being considered difficult to complete due to the intense rivalry between the two clubs.
The Argentine’s exit from Tottenham Hotspur looked imminent, with Inter Milan understood to be leading the race for the centre-back.
Spurs duo
The sensational move could, however, be hampered by competition from Barcelona, who recently allowed defender Ronald Araújo to leave on loan to Liverpool and are said to be considering strengthening the position.
Another Tottenham winger, Manor Solomon, is also featured in transfer rumors, with West Ham United interested in his signature. Manor Solomon joined Tottenham Hotspur from Manor Solomon’s previous club before undergoing loan stints, including a period with Leeds United, before returning to North London for the 2026 preseason under manager Roberto De Zerbi.
