Amos Wanjala elated after reunion with Nastic Academy family in Spain

Kenya U20 ace Amos Wanjala continues to attract attention after his move to Valencia’s B team, with representatives from his former club Nàstic Sports Academy among those in attendance to watch him in Sunday’s league clash on February 22, 2026.

The match against Reus FCR saw the new Valencia U21 player return to the province of Tarragona, Spain, where he first landed after his time with Solidarity Boys. His former coaches and academy mates from the renowned academy seized the occasion to reunite with the talented centre-back.

Wanjala was seen interacting with the fans, which comprised several young players at the academy who received the player on a scholarship programme in late 2023, after excelling with St Anthony’s Boys High School in the Kenya Secondary School Sports Association (KSSSA) games.

“Thank you so much, Nastic Soccer Academy, for the great support. I really appreciate it, Family,” he took to his X page to convey his gratitude for meeting his former academy.

The gesture from the Nastic Academy follows after his old club, Athletico Torellano, also lauded the progress made by the Kenya U20 skipper. In a statement on X following his debut with Valencia B, the club delighted in the player’s growth.

“Amos Wanjala has already made his debut with VCF Mestalla in Segunda Federación, settling into this new stage with confident steps. Watching you grow is our pride. Come on, Amos!” Club Torellano took to X to post on Wanjala following his debut.

On the pitch, Wanjala earned his third appearance for the Mestalla team, which squandered a 70th-minute lead to draw the hosts 1-1.

Wanjala, who made his debut in a substitute appearance on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in the league victory,now has three appearances for his new club.

Nastic Academy

The Valencia reserves side has, in the period, suffered a single loss, winning once and drawing twice since his league debut. The club is ranked 13th in the pile after playing 24 times and garnering 29 points.

Based in the south of the sporting city and port of Barcelona, the Tarragona-based academy, Nastic Academy, has been influential in shaping the growth of Kenyan youngsters in recent years through investment in youth football.

Spain-based Aldrine Kibet, who recently made a breakthrough in the La Liga reserves team, is among the players who hone their trade at the famed academy after moving from Kenya.
