Kenya Police FC left-back Abud Omar has expressed gratitude after guiding the Football Kenya Federation Premier League defending champions to an important 2-1 victory over the visiting Murang’a SEAL at the Police Sacco Stadium on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

The hosts made a perfect start, going ahead just three minutes in when Erick Zakayo found the net, setting the pace for an entertaining match. Kenya Police dominated possession early on and pressed forward consistently, but Murang’a Seal fought back and drew level in the 37th minute through Victor Haki, ensuring the teams went into halftime tied.

After the restart, the law enforcers continued to push for a winner, and their efforts eventually paid off late in the game. Captain Abud Omar struck in the 84th minute to hand his side all three points at a crucial stage of the campaign. Speaking on the effort, Omar said:

”To me, it doesn’t really matter, as long as the team wins, whether I score or not. It is also a good thing because I always practice these free kicks, for now I am really comfortable, and at the end of the day, as long as the team is winning, that is very important,” Abud Omar said.

In terms of match statistics, Kenya Police slightly controlled possession with 53 per cent compared to their opponents’ 47 per cent. They were more active offensively, registering 16 shots versus Murang’a Seal’s eight, although the visitors were more clinical with better shot accuracy. In midfield, Police attempted more passes but were less precise, while Murang’a Seal recorded a higher pass success rate. The home side also earned more corner kicks, highlighting their attacking intent.

Defensively, both teams remained organized, each being caught offside once and collecting three yellow cards apiece in a physically contested match.

Zakayo was named Man of the Match after an impressive display that included a goal, several chances created, and consistent attacking involvement.

In the end, Kenya Police’s persistence in attack and strong finish proved decisive, boosting their position as the season heads toward its final stages, while Murang’a Seal will take positives from their efficiency despite extending their losing run.
