According to the weatherman, the coldest conditions will be experienced in parts of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, the Central Rift Valley and areas around Mt Kilimanjaro.
“Cool night-time and early-morning conditions are expected over some parts of the country during the forecast period,” Kenya Met stated.
“Areas likely to experience temperatures below 10°C include parts of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, the Central Rift Valley and areas around Mt Kilimanjaro.”
Specific areas
Among the towns expected to experience the lowest minimum temperatures is Nyahururu, which is forecast to record 5°C. Other areas likely to be cold include Laikipia, Nyeri, Eldoret and Kericho, each expected to register minimum temperatures of 9°C.
Nakuru and Narok are expected to record minimum temperatures of 11°C, while Nairobi is forecast to experience lows of 12°C. Coastal city Mombasa is expected to remain relatively warm with minimum temperatures of 20°C, while Mandera is projected to record 24°C.

The Meteorological Department has advised Kenyans living in the affected areas to keep warm during the night and early morning hours to reduce the risk of cold-related illnesses.
According to the weatherman, parents and carers have also been urged to take extra care of children, older persons and other vulnerable members of society, who are more susceptible to cold weather.
Farmers have been encouraged to closely monitor livestock and sensitive crops during the chilly mornings to minimise potential losses associated with low temperatures.
The advisory comes as the country continues to experience the cool season, with the Kenya Meteorological Department urging the public to follow regular weather updates and take the necessary precautions throughout the forecast period.
Hot daytime
At the same time, the department said hot daytime conditions will persist in parts of northeastern Kenya, northwestern Kenya and the Coast, where maximum temperatures are expected to exceed 30°C.

Farmers have also been encouraged to monitor livestock and sensitive crops during the chilly mornings to minimise the effects of low temperatures.
For areas experiencing hot conditions, the weatherman has advised residents to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and take extra care of children, the elderly and livestock throughout the forecast period.
