Tana River Governor Dhadho Godhana has hinted at the possibility of vying for the Woman Representative seat in the future if constitutional changes allow men to contest for the position.

Speaking on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, the governor has suggested that the Constitution could be reviewed to explore whether women can be represented by men.

He has stated that if such a provision is approved and effected, residents of Tana River could consider him for the Woman Representative role.

“Pia tujaribu kuangalia katiba. Kama inawezekana wanawake kurepresentiwa na wanaume,” Godhana has said in the video.

Ikikubalika na tuone kuna mwanya, tunaeza omba kina mama pia women rep, mnanipa,” the Governor added.

The remarks have been made in a light public setting and have quickly drawn attention on social media platforms, where the clip continues to be shared widely.

In a post, KEWOPA has announced that Kenya’s women Members of Parliament opened their EAC Inter Parliamentary Games campaign with a 3–1 win over Rwanda in Kampala.

The association has stated that the team took control of the match after the first set and maintained momentum to secure the win.

KEWOPA has described the match as a positive opening for Kenya’s women MPs in the regional competition.
