President William Ruto has congratulated Jomo Gecaga and media personality Lola Hannigan following their wedding, wishing the couple joy, peace, and a strong life together.
In his message shared on his X account on Sunday, December 28, 2025, President Ruto praised the union, highlighting their commitment as they embark on married life.

“Warmest congratulations to Lola Hannigan and Jomo Gecaga as you step into the beautiful covenant of marriage. The couple held a private, intimate wedding ceremony on Friday, December 26, 2025, attended by close family and friends. Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta was present at the event, joining relatives and friends witness the couple exchange vows.
Former First Lady Margaret Kenyatta also attended the ceremony, offering support as part of the close gathering. Photos and videos from the wedding later circulated online, showing family members taking pictures with the newlyweds.
Lola and Gecaga
Lola Hannigan is a Kenyan media personality and former television presenter. She began her media career at Kenya Television Network (KTN), where she worked as a presenter early in her career. She later hosted shows on Ebru TV, including The Edge 254, before stepping back from regular broadcasting to focus on family life.
The couple has three children together, with their third child born just weeks before their wedding. Jomo Gecaga is a father of six children in total, including one child with Valentine Njoroge, twins with former news anchor Anne Kiguta, and three with Lola Hannigan.
Despite coming from a prominent political family, Gecaga has largely kept a low public profile over the years.
