Meanwhile, the gesture by officers on the ground came as the National Police Service issued its official Valentine’s Day message to Kenyans.
In a statement shared on X, the Service extended heartfelt wishes to citizens while urging them to celebrate responsibly and remain vigilant.
“As the world comes together to celebrate Valentine’s Day, the National Police Service extends heartfelt wishes to all Kenyans and urges everyone to exercise collective responsibility, remain vigilant, and report any suspicious activity,” the statement read.
The Service emphasised that love goes beyond gifts and words.
“Valentine’s Day is a powerful reminder that love transcends words and gifts; it is also embodied in service, sacrifice, and loyalty to our country, Kenya.
Our mission is deeply rooted in love for our nation and, above all, for the people we are honoured to serve and protect,” the statement added.
The police assured Kenyans of their continued dedication to safeguarding lives and maintaining peace.
“Every day, our officers dedicate themselves to safeguarding lives, preserving peace, and upholding the rule of law.
Your trust, support, and partnership inspire us to fulfil this noble responsibility with utmost diligence and compassion,” the Service stated.
