Kenya’s prominent Pastor Victor Kanyari has hinted at contesting for a political seat in the next general elections.

Speaking during a church service at his Salvation Healing Ministry on Sunday, December 14, 2025, he reflected on his past political affiliations and expressed uncertainty about his future plans in politics.

Kanyari disclosed that he was the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s diehard supporter, noting that he voted for him in the past general elections.

Following Raila’s death, the pastor says he is not sure if he will ever vote again, stating that maybe he will only do so if he decides to vie for a political seat come 2027.

The self-proclaimed prophet further explained that he no longer closely follows political news as he once did after the death of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader.

Mimi sionangi news, nilikuwa naona news kwa sababu ya Raila Odinga, sasa juu alikufa I no longer watch news,” he added, highlighting a shift in his engagement with politics.

Kanyari on political phrases

The pastor further warned politicians and the public to be careful with viral political phrases, such as ‘wantam’ and ‘tutam,’ which are being used by different political groups in campaigning for the upcoming general elections

Jitokeza ufanya kazi wacha kusema wantam, tutam,” Kanyari warned.
