Mosiria named Eminent Peace Ambassador, vows to champion unity and justice
By David Nthua, January 11, 2026Nairobi County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria has been honoured with the prestigious title of Eminent Peace Ambassador, a recognition he says comes with both honour and responsibility.
Through his Facebook account on Sunday, January 11, 2025, Mosiria announced the milestone, describing the title as a call to deepen his commitment to peace, unity, and social cohesion across Kenya and beyond.
“I am deeply humbled to be recognised as an Eminent Peace Ambassador, a title that carries not only honour but also a profound responsibility to advocate for peace, unity, and social cohesion,” he wrote.

Commitment to peace
Mosiria stated that as a public servant and Chief Officer, he intends to use the new platform to promote harmony in society, especially at a time when Kenya continues to face social, political, and economic pressures.
He outlined key areas he plans to focus on, including peacebuilding and conflict resolution within communities.
He also pledged to invest in the younger generation, saying he will work to inspire young people and future leaders to embrace tolerance, dialogue, and mutual respect.
“I commit to using this platform to inspire young people and future leaders to champion harmony and tolerance,” Mosiria said.
Beyond youth empowerment, the Nairobi County official noted that his role as Eminent Peace Ambassador will extend to supporting initiatives that strengthen community resilience, social justice, and national unity.

According to him, peace is not just the absence of conflict but the presence of fairness, inclusion, and opportunity for all.
Leadership as service
Mosiria thanked organisations, colleagues, and mentors who have supported him along his journey in public service, saying the recognition was not a personal achievement alone but a reflection of collective effort.
“This recognition is a reminder that leadership is service, and service must always be for the greater good,” he wrote.
He added that he looks forward to working with both local and international stakeholders to advance sustainable peace and a culture of unity.
The appointment has been welcomed by supporters who say Mosiria’s grassroots engagement and hands-on approach in Nairobi County make him well-suited for a role that demands listening, dialogue, and action in the pursuit of peace.
