Documenting the scene

Police officers who visited the scene documented the evidence before transferring the body of the deceased to the Mukuyuni Hospital Mortuary, where a postmortem examination will be conducted to aid the investigation.

The incident has left the local community in shock, with residents expressing concern over rising cases of family disputes turning violent in the area.

Authorities have urged families to seek mediation and legal channels when they encounter family disagreements rather than resorting to violence.

Another family dispute

The incident follows a similar tragic case in Mbooni East, where a man fatally stabbed his wife before taking his own life on Thursday, December 4, 2025. Neighbours reported that he had locked their three children in a bedroom before carrying out the attack following a domestic dispute.

Investigators recovered a note claimed to have been written by the deceased man, though its contents were not immediately disclosed.

“The man used a knife to kill his wife before ending his own life in their living room. It has been reported to us that they had experienced domestic wrangles before,” Police said.

A neighbour familiar with the incident said the man is suspected of having locked the couple’s three children inside their bedroom before attacking his wife and later hanging himself in their bedroom.
