List of govt services available at Huduma Kenya’s Mashinani outreach in Ruiru
By Dan Kauna, August 6, 2026Residents of Ruiru in Kiambu County can get public services right at their doorstep today, August 6, 2026, as Huduma Kenya brings its mobile outreach to the area.
The initiative, dubbed Huduma Mashinani, brings government officers directly to citizens to save local residents the stress of long travel and tight queues.
Announcing the drive on X, Huduma Kenya posted, “Watu wa Ruiru, Kiambu County, tumewafikia.”
The agency urged locals to drop by and fix their pending paperwork, stating, “Tomorrow we will set up camp at Huduma Centre Ruiru courtesy of #HudumaMashinani and Huduma Centre Kiambu.Come get government services easily.”
Here are some of the government services that will be available in Ruiru during the Huduma Kenya’s mashinani outreach.
- National ID registration and replacement
According to Huduma Kenya, residents in Ruiru and it’s environ can apply for first-time National IDs through the New Person Registration (NPR) desk or request duplicate IDs if theirs are lost or damaged during the Mashinani outreach.
- Birth and death certificates
Civil registration officers are available to help process birth and death certificates.
- Police clearance certificates
Those looking for employment or travelling can get police clearance certificates, commonly known as good conduct, alongside standard police abstracts.
- Driving licences
Motorists can also apply for or renew National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) Smart Driving Licenses.
- SHA registration
For health services, residents can register or make enquiries with the Social Health Authority (SHA) to keep their medical cover up to date.
- HELB, KRA and digital assistance on site
Students and young adults have plenty to gain from the drive as well. Officers from the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) and the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) are on hand to guide users through college placements, loan applications, and status checks.
Taxpayers can sort out filings and account issues with Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) staff, while those searching for missing funds can consult the Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority (UFAA) desk.
To round off the setup, the team is offering e-Citizen account support, general cyber services, and guidance at the main Huduma Kenya information desk. This one-stop approach helps local residents handle important government business quickly without spending extra money on bus fare.
