List of areas to be affected by power blackout on Tuesday, December 30
Kenya Power has announced a planned electricity interruption that will affect parts of Uasin Gishu and Kakamega counties on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
In a notice released on Monday, December 29, 2025, the utility company said the blackout is part of routine network maintenance aimed at improving service delivery and ensuring the stability of the power supply.

“Good Evening. The listed areas will be under planned power maintenance tomorrow (30th December, 2025). We regret any inconvenience that may be caused during the operations,” Kenya Power stated.
In Uasin Gishu County, the power interruption will affect areas within Soy, Furfural, Nangili, and Tarakwa. The outage is scheduled to take place from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm. Areas expected to be affected include Soy, Likuyani, Imbinga, Ivugwi, Lumino, Navilus, Kabobo Farm, Kipsomba, Tarakwa, Chemoset, Lugulu, Chemororoch, Furfural, Mawe Tatu, Nangili, Kongoni, and surrounding customers.
In Kakamega County, the planned blackout will affect parts of Shianda and Mwitoli. The interruption is scheduled from 9.00 am to 11.00 am. Areas expected to be affected include Lukoye, Shianda, Ekero, Mwitoli, Ekama, Kamashia, Shanderema, and adjacent customers.
