List of areas to be affected by power blackout on Monday, December 29
Kenya Power has announced a planned power outage expected to affect several areas in Vihiga County on Monday, December 29, 2025.
The utility company stated that the blackout is part of routine network maintenance aimed at improving the reliability of electricity supply in the region.

According to a notice released on Sunday, December 28, 2025, the affected areas will include Mudete Trading Facility, Kiritu, Mudete Market, Inyali, D Igula, Mambai, Munoywa, Vuyiya, Vohobole, Bendera, Evojo, Kisatir, and nearby customers.
The blackout is scheduled to begin at 9.00 am and end at 5.00 pm. Kenya Power has urged residents and businesses to make necessary arrangements and take precautions during the outage.

The blackout comes as the Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast warning of rainfall over several parts of the country from 9.00 am on Sunday, December 28, 2025, to 9.00 am on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
Areas likely to receive rainfall include the highlands east and west of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi, the Lake Victoria Basin, parts of the Rift Valley, the south-eastern lowlands, and the Coastal region.
On Monday, December 29, rainfall is expected to continue over western Kenya and the highlands, with scattered showers in Nairobi and surrounding areas.
The Coastal region and south-eastern lowlands may experience light to moderate rainfall, while most other parts of the country will have partly cloudy skies with occasional showers. Residents in areas prone to flooding or persistent heavy rainfall are advised to remain alert.
Temperatures across most regions are expected to remain moderate, with highs ranging from 24°C to 30°C and cooler mornings in the highlands.
