List of areas to be affected by planned blackout on Saturday May 16

Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions that will affect some areas across the country on Saturday, May 16, 2026.
In a public notice issued on Friday, May 15, 2026, the utility company said the scheduled outages are part of ongoing network maintenance and improvement works aimed at enhancing power reliability in the affected regions.
“Notice is hereby given under Rule 27 of the Electric Power Rules that the electricity supply will be interrupted as follows: (Periodic interruptions are necessary to facilitate maintenance and upgrades of power lines, connect new customers, or replace power lines during construction, etc.).”
Kenya Power said the scheduled blackout on Saturday will affect parts of Bungoma and Kwale counties.
Bungoma
Area: Kanduyi
Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Places affected: Khetias S/Mkt Kanduyi, Total & Rubis Petrol Stns & adjacent customers.
Kwale
Area: Taru
Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Places affected: Taru, Melikubwa Town & adjacent customers
Area: Diani
Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Places affected: Rongai, Diani Police Station, Showground, Darad, Aga Khan, Pride Inn, Rockstar, Tamasha & adjacent customers.
