Kenya Power lists areas to be affected by blackout on Tuesday, May 26
By William Muthama, May 25, 2026Kenya Power has announced planned maintenance that will lead to power interruptions in several parts of the country on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
In a statement on X on Monday, May 25, 2026, the utility company said the planned outage is part of routine maintenance aimed at improving electricity supply reliability.
“Good evening, Please be advised that there will be a scheduled power interruption as outlined in the attached notice: Date: Tuesday, 26.05.2026.^LW,” Kenya Power stated.
Nairobi Regions affected
In the Nairobi Region, parts of Kiharu will experience outages between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
Affected areas include Ngecha Road, Mitini Estate, BAA Architects and surrounding customers.

Another cluster covering Chania Avenue and Jamhuri Estate will also be affected within the same period.
Areas expected to experience interruptions include Ngong Road, Coptic Hospital, Muchai Drive, Rose Avenue, Nairobi Golf Club, Kibera Drive, Kabarnet Road, St. Nicholas School, Wood Avenue, Prestige Plaza, Woodley Estate, Moi Girls School and Jamhuri Estate, among others.
North Rift and Western Regions
In the North Rift, parts of Nandi County (Arwos area) will experience outages from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.
Affected customers include Cheribisi, Arwos Centre and St. Roberts Arwos.
In the Western Region, parts of Kisumu County (Kombewa area) will be without power from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
Areas affected include Kombewa Approved School, Bar Korwa, Omuya, Ratta and Opasi.
South Nyanza and Mt Kenya
In Migori County, areas including Kehancha Town, Ntimaru and Taranganya will experience outages from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.
Affected locations include Kehancha Law Courts, Igena, Kobinto, Senta, Chinato, Ntimaru Kegonga and Matare.

In the Mt Kenya Region, parts of WarazoJet, Ndathi and Kimahuri will also be affected from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Areas listed include Junction Villa, Snow View, Mapema, Kairi and Bagdad.
