Kenya Met issues nationwide weather update for Tuesday, December 23, 2025

In an advisory issued on Monday, December 22, 2025, the Kenya Meteorological Department announced that rainfall is expected in the Southeast Lowlands, the Highlands east and west of the Rift Valley, and the Coast.
“Weather outlook across the country: Rainfall expected over a few places in the Southeast Lowlands, Highlands east and west of the Rift Valley, and the
Coast,” said Kenya Met.
On the other hand, the Met Department has predicted strong southeasterly winds exceeding 25 knots (12.5 m/s) expected over Marsabit County.
Kenya Met has also announced that various parts, including the highlands east of the Rift Valley, will experience showers and thunderstorms on the night of Monday, December 22, 2025, with sunny intervals expected in the morning.
According to the weatherman’s report, residents in the Highlands and Rift Valley, including Nairobi County, Tharaka Nithi, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Muranga, Embu, Kiambu, Laikipia, and Nyandarua, are advised to prepare for wet conditions and possible disruptions.
